The goals of the MN Director User Group are:
1) To provide a place where Director users can network,
sharing their latest experiences--both triumphs and failures--as
well as provide a forum for users to ask questions about and get
answers to problems they may be having with Director.
2) To serve as a center of information about Macromedia
products for Minnesota developers.
On 3 September,
the MN Director User Group took part in Macromedia's worldwide User
Group meeting, an announcement and demo of the MX 2004 product line.
Daniel Nelson of
Blue Jade Creative Enterprises, LLC showcased The Logo Creator
at our 30 July meeting.
On 25 June 2003
Andrew M. Gribble will be discussed technology used during the 2003
Mississippi Challenge, an attempt to break the World Record for
fastest time paddling the entire Mississippi River.
Author Mathew David discussed the Flash
Communication Server at our April meeting. The meeting was hosted
by the "Big Three" (Twin Cities ColdFusion User Group,
Minnesota Flash User Group and the Minnesota Director User Group)
at St. Thomas University.
Steve Killingbeck
presented a method for using digital video in Director without using
an xtra at our 27 March meeting. Mark Stanley also presented several
video-based Director projects which he has produced. Thanks to Steve
for making his video
notes available for download.
On 20 February
Corey Tate presented Dreamweaver MX Power User Tips.
Steve Killingbeck
did a demo of Macromedia's newest product--Contribute--at our January
meeting. Chuck Preston reviewed the new features of Director MX.

buttons in Flash MX, which he presented at our November meeting.
Our
10 October meeting was a big sucess, with Chuck Stein showcasing
two Director projects he recently completed.
On
27 August Chuck Preston demonstrated how Plasma can be used with
Director, and summarized the information presented at the recent
Minneapolis Macromedia Seminars. Andrew M. Gribble presented a CDROM
he created recently. The meeting took place at the Ramsey County
Public Library in Roseville.

Greenville, SC.
Chuck
Preston of Stinkless Productions led a discussion entitled "The
Client From Hell" at our March meeting.
Corey Tate discussed using video in Director at our September lunch.

discussed using Active X controls in Director at our May Luncheon
At
our 10 April SIG meeting we presented: An Evening With UpdateStage.
Many thanks to Scott Flowers of UpdateStage, who showcased several
of UpdateStage's xtras, and gave away Xtras as door prizes to over
40% of those in attendance.
Mary
McDonough gave a very well-received presentation at our April Luncheon
meeting on a Director project she recently completed.

White gave an amazing presentation on Using Databases in Director
at our February evening meeting.

gave a great presentation on debugging Lingo code at our January
evening meeting. Thanks also to Mary McDonough, who presented a
CDROM she recently completed.
Cross-platform
issues was the subject of our January meeting. Ken Wilson gave a
very well-received presentation on this topic.
Hats
off to Chuck Preston, who led a great discussion on debugging Lingo
code at our 9 December meeting.
Gracias
to Melissa Clark for her presentation at our 16 November meeting,
where she showcased the CDROM she created for Once Upon A Child.
Corey
Tate gave an excellent presentation on synchronizing audio and animation
using cuepoints at our November luncheon meeting. Thanks also to
Mike Gleason for an impromptu CDROM demo.

September's
meeting was a huge success, with two great presentations from our
members (Chuck Stein on Vector Shapes and Ken Wilson on using QTVR
in D7).
