Test Your Macromedia Skills

Macromedia has a Flash movie on their homepage with seven-question ColdFusion, Dreamweaver and Flash tests. You won't get certified or win anything if you get all the questions right, but it's kinda fun nonetheless.

Spam, Scams and Junk Mail

I've received a lot of "419 Scam" email messages lately. If you are unfamiliar with the name, you have probably nonetheless received one of these messages. It usually takes the form of an individual claiming to be the descendant of a recently deceased/murdered government official. The scammer says that he needs your help getting access to his dead relative's money (often quoted as being US$25 million or more). He goes on to say that if you will provide your name and bank account info, you will receive a percentage of the money. Needless to say, anyone who provides their bank info soon discovers that their account is empty. Symantec has an article on the scam. Speaking of Symantec, they also have a good list of Internet Hoaxes.

Macromedia has the latest Flash Player Stats posted on their site. They estimate that 97.8% of the 485 million Web users can view Flash content.
