Move Over, Flashing Ad Banner What's the latest trend in Website advertising? Animated Graphics that pop up in front of the text on the page. In order to keep reading the text behind them you have to either wait patiently for the graphic to go away, or try to find a way to get rid of them. With most users conditioned to avoid anything that flashes or moves on a Webpage (having learned that these items are almost always ads), one has to wonder: will users accept this in-your-face marketing strategy as an unavoidable part of the surfing experience, or will they abandon sites which use them en masse, and search for the same content (sans ads) on another Website? |
