Active Content in IE Requires Developer Changes
Microsoft has changed the way "active content" (Flash, Shockwave, java applets and the like) is displayed in its browser. Adobe has made available a description of and solution for this issue.

No Active Content Changes to IE?
After all the fuss last August, it seemed that changes to IE having to do with "active content" (including Flash movies, Java applets and Shockwaves movies) were inevitable. However, in a recent press release posted on their site, Microsoft has announced that at present it will not move forward with changes ("modest steps" in Microsoft-speak) to the new version of Internet Explorer.

Microsoft Announces a Change to the Internet Explorer Browser
Microsoft has announced a change to the Microsoft Internet Explorer web browser, which may impact how active content is displayed. Examples of affected content include Macromedia Flash, Shockwave, Authorware, Windows Media Player, QuickTime, RealAudio, or RealVideo content, as well as Java applets and other ActiveX controls.

Look Ma, No Wires!
Intel has announced One Unwired Day, an initiative to promote wireless network access and Intel's various products related to Wi-Fi technology. For one twenty-four hour period (25 September 2003), thousands of Wi-Fi locations will be free and open to the public.
